Affiliate Review Update Policy for Small Editorial Teams

A review is a dated research artifact. Products, plans and terms change, so the site needs a policy for high-impact checks rather than an unrealistic promise that every sentence is continuously current.

Separate stable and volatile claims

Core use cases may remain stable; price, plan limits, commissions, cookies and availability are volatile. Label and source them differently.

Do not put an 'updated' date on a page unless meaningful fields or analysis were actually reviewed.

Define review triggers

Use scheduled reviews for important pages and event-based reviews for provider notices, broken links, product changes, reader reports and performance anomalies.

Assign an owner and keep the last source note.

Correct according to harm

Prioritize broken application links, inaccurate eligibility, price or commission claims and unsafe instructions. Cosmetic wording can wait.

Publish a correction note when the error materially affected a recommendation.

Frequently asked questions

Should every article be updated monthly?

No. Review frequency should reflect traffic, commercial impact and how quickly the claims can change.
